Ergonomics and Design

The new generation of information and transaction terminals from Wincor Nixdorf combines outstanding ergonomics and top design with a broad range of functional options. Particular emphasis was placed on ease of use, taking account of the requirements of both customers and operators. Optical indicators at the action points - card feed and print output - facilitate customer operation. In the context of ergonomic design, special attention was also paid to persons with disabilities. For example, the displays can be easily read by persons in wheelchairs. The card slot, keypad and print output can all be accessed with ease. The keypad is also easily used by persons with visual impairments or with limited use of their hands. An acoustic signal can be used as confirmation of card input or as a prompt to remove the card.

In the context of the design itself, attention was also paid to simple things like a protective strip at floor level, which prevents damage from cleaning equipment. To simplify operation, many of the details were optimized. For example, in addition to a visual paper volume check, the systems also offer an external paper volume indicator. LEDs provide information on the current paper status, enabling employees to check it without having to open the system. The printer has pull-out paper trays and a fold-out keyboard. This offers excellent accessibility and ease of operation. A special weekend limit display provides information on whether the paper supply will suffice for the coming weekend. The display can be set quickly without tools to suit individual needs.

Flexibility

In order to achieve maximum flexibility, Wincor Nixdorf has configured the ProPrint systems so that they can easily be integrated into different network architectures. This includes connection to host systems and networks of different vendors as well as integration into modern client/server architectures. Software solutions based on emulations and applications allow seamless, problem-free integration into existing environments.

Individuality

Alongside attractive design, customers also require the system`s color scheme to allow it to be optimally integrated into existing architectures. This actively supports a company`s corporate design. Wincor Nixdorf therefore offers an option whereby customers can individually color-design their systems. Standard RAL colors can be used.
